Acupuncture and Dry Needling

Acupuncture treats all types of pain - no matter what caused it, or where it’s located in the body. In the hands of an experienced and well-trained, practitioner acupuncture creates results that last.

Dry Needling is just one of the many styles of acupuncture that we use in our clinic.

Relaxed after acupuncture
  • Acupuncture affects every system in the body. That means it can be used to support or improve almost any condition.

    • Pain: back, neck, shoulder, elbow, wrist, knees, ankles, feet, jaw, face, headaches, joints, muscles, connective tissue, shingles, peripheral neuropathy, fibromyalgia, trigeminal neuralgia, arthritis, gout, etc.

    • Recovery: pain and scarring from injuries or surgery, help mitigate side effects of chemotherapy and radiation

    • Women’s health: irregular periods, painful periods, PMS, menopause, hot flashes, night sweats

    • Digestion/Urination: Symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Crohn’s Disease, constipation, diarrhea, acid reflux, stomach ache, frequent urination

    • Sleep/Energy: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, insomnia, low energy

    • Emotions: irritability, stress, worry, over-thinking, feeling “off”

    • Immune system: seasonal allergies, asthma, chronic bronchitis, smoking cessation

    • Auto-immune: Symptoms of auto-immune conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Psoriasis, Meniere’s Disease, Lupus, etc.

    • And so much more!

  • Acupuncture is a safe and gentle option when administered by a well-trained and licensed practitioner. It’s a great option for most people and for most conditions. The first step is an initial exam to see if you’re a good candidate (you probably are!).

  • Plan on 2 to 3 times a week until your body holds onto the changes. Then we see you less.
    - Simple case: 1-3 months, 10-20 sessions
    - Moderate cases: 3-6 months, 20-50 sessions
    - Severe, complex case (neuropathy, auto-immune, hormonal, etc.) : 6-12 months, 50+ sessions

  • Single sessions are $150.

Prepaid plans: 10 sessions range from $1,100 to $1,300 depending on the severity and complexity of your condition, and the modalities we use to get you feeling your best. We’ll talk about this in your initial consultation.

What about insurance? We’re a self-pay clinic which means we don’t handle insurance. As you can imagine, insurance companies are very picky about what they cover, and who provides the service. If your policy covers “out of network” acupuncture we’ll give you a superbill that you can submit directly to your insurance company.

  • In the hands of a well-trained and licensed acupuncturist, the risks are minimal.

You can expect bruising or soreness where the needles are inserted. Your symptoms may temporarily increase. This is a normal part of healing.

Positive side effects include: more energy, better sleep, stress relief, better digestion, and much more!

  • It may feel like a little mosquito bite or a spark that lasts for a few seconds and then subsides. You’ll feel some points, others your won’t.

  • Even though acupuncture has been used clinically for thousands of years, and has been extensively researched, we still have a lot of learn about how it works.

    What we do know:

    • It influences every biological, chemical, and neurological system in the body.

    • It reduces inflammation.

    • It increases blood flow without increasing heart rate.

    • It reduces pain and releases endorphins.

    • It trains the brain to take over those functions on its own - which is how we restore function and get lasting results.

If you're into the science, a quick search of the website “PubMed” will bring up thousands of quality research studies from around the world, for almost every conceivable condition.

  • Dry needling is the tip of the iceberg in acupuncture and it’s the very first thing Licensed Acupuncturists learn in our 4-year Master’s degree program.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese Herbal medicine is the most sophisticated natural medicine system in existence. It’s the “original functional medicine”.

It excels at resolving the root cause of organ dysfunction to provide lasting results.

Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine
  • In the hands of a well-trained, and experienced practitioner, Chinese Herbal medicine can treat and resolve the root cause of many health issues like…

    • Digestion

    • Insomnia

    • Stress

    • Women’s health

    • And much more

Most patients, and most conditions, benefit because we’re getting to the root of the problem.

  • In the hands of an experienced practitioner, Chinese Herbal Medicine is a safe and effective option for most people.

However; there are certain conditions where Chinese Herbal medicine may not be the most appropriate option.

Always tell your practitioner if you’re

    • Pregnant

    • Breast feeding

    • Preparing for IVF

    • Currently undergoing radiation or chemotherapy

    • Have allergies

    • Taking medications

A well-trained, licensed and experienced practitioner will be aware of herb, drug and allergic interactions and will recommend herbs accordingly.

  • Chinese herbal formulas restore the body’s function, they don’t just cover up symptoms or replace a function the body should normally perform. They heal the root cause.

At the beginning we may recommend 2 or 3 different formulas and these formulas will change as your body heals.

When you reach your maximum improvement, we wean you off of Chinese Herbs.

  • We only use the highest quality Chinese herbal formulas from well-established, pharmacy-grade providers who have proven track records for safety and compliance with FDA and international safety standards. They are third-party tested to ensure ingredient purity and safety.

Bottom line - we only source and use the best of the best.

  • The cost for each of our formulas varies from $25-75 a bottle. Our formulas are meant to be taken for a short time to affect a specific change in the body. Once we’ve resolved the issue, there is no need for herbs because the body is primed to maintain health through food and movement.
